Thank you all for braving the -15 wind chill weather, and shooting the First USPSA match of the 2009 year.

I don't think I have EVER seen a win by such a close margin before, .003%. Congrats to J Longley for the overall win.

See you all at the end of the month.

We Are Looking To Start a Smallbore Rifle Team
Written by Geoff Battick
Sunday, 02 November 2008

We are trying to get a smallbore rifle team together and hold some matches indoors this winter.   The club owns plenty of target .22 match rifles you can use if you do not have your own.  All you need to supply is the ammo you use.  The NRA competition website has more detailed info available and we have a few copies of the rule book at the club too.  The idea right now is to hold practices on Monday nights after the youth air rifle program session so the range will be warmed up and the two disciplines can work together a bit for the benefit of the kids shooting beforehand.  No special equipment is needed to get started, just bring ammo and have fun.

Winter Postal Season Has Arrived
Written by Geoff Battick
Sunday, 02 November 2008

It’s the time of year to start thinking if you want to try shooting in the winter Postal competition.  We generally shoot these on Friday nights at the club.  This is an informal individual competition using .22’s and centerfire pistols  of 9mm. .32 or .38 caliber.    The targets you shot are mailed in and scores are tallied and an overall winner from all the entries in the state is declared.  This takes place over a 12 week period, but you can shoot it at your own pace during those 12 weeks until you accumulate the required number of scored targets.  You can do it in one session if you’re really motivated!
